Senior Construction Project Manager

The cleared Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of secure and often classified construction projects, for government and defense clients. These roles require meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict security protocols, and require strong leadership skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex project timelines within highly regulated environments. The position will be remote with frequent travel to jobsite locations as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading project planning and execution, developing detailed work plans, and managing project design and construction efforts.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to security protocols
  • Serving as the main point of contact for stakeholders and facilitating communication for customer, subcontractor and liaison to host personnel.
  • Managing project budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Overseeing contracts, subcontractors, and assisting with acquisition planning and administration.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, overseeing quality control, and working with subcontractor and client quality assurance personnel.
  • Providing remote supervision of construction activities and monitoring subcontractor performance.
  • Managing schedule, budget, and technical performance of large scale (and/or multiple smaller construction efforts).
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and providing reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Managing change orders and ensuring changes are documented and approved. 
  • Perform multiple weekly briefings on construction progress, issues, risks and opportunities
  • Must be very proficient user in Microsoft office tool suites (power point, word, excel, project)
  • Must be able to articulate clearly and provide frequent briefings to customer stakeholders (in person or virtual).
  • Must be able to write engineering level reports and weekly/monthly progress reports
  • Must be able to work extended hours and work across time-zones supporting different projects in varying OCONUS locations.
  • Overseas travel is expected to be 30-40% of the project time.

Required Education:

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management required,
  • Master’s degree desired.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience with government construction management or design engineering.
  • Proven Project Management skill. PMP is required
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in electrical, and mechanical fields.
  • Experience collaborating with other disciplines, external partners, general contractors, engineers and architects through the project phases.
  • Previous experience working around secured and classified locations adhering to strict security protocols
  • Previous experience working on US Military Bases.
  • Previous experience with system commissioning, building accreditation, transition from construction to sustainment required.

Security Clearance Statement: You must be a US Citizen for consideration. This position requires a government security clearance.

Clearance Level: TS/SCI security clearance.
